To get con­sole access to your GP2X you can use your USB Cable. I found this forum-posting here.

I just added the needed files inside the pack (usbser.sys was in the driver.cab). Down­load the pack here, then copy the exam­ples direc­tory to your GP2X. Now dis­con­nect your USB con­nec­tion (press X) and install the USB gad­get ser­ial dri­ver by right click­ing on the gserial.inf file.

Start bash.gpe on your GP2X. Start up a ter­mi­nal (Hyper­T­er­mi­nal should be ok) select the new COM32 port, con­nect (38’400, no flow con­trol), press enter and you’ll see the bash shell:
