To get console access to your GP2X you can use your USB Cable. I found this forum-posting here.
I just added the needed files inside the pack (usbser.sys was in the driver.cab). Download the pack here, then copy the examples directory to your GP2X. Now disconnect your USB connection (press X) and install the USB gadget serial driver by right clicking on the gserial.inf file.
Start bash.gpe on your GP2X. Start up a terminal (HyperTerminal should be ok) select the new COM32 port, connect (38’400, no flow control), press enter and you’ll see the bash shell:
